Clayton started out at a young age, 7 years in go-kart racing. Working his way up through the classes and competing at top tier kart events across the country. In early 2018 Clayton was selected as one of four finalists for the VMB Driver Academy Scholarship ran by WorldSpeed Motorsports. He then made the jump from karts to cars, specifically Spec Miata racing in NASA (National Auto Sport Association) with the Teen Mazda Challenge. Short after his second season in Spec Miata, he joined the MINI John Cooper Works Racing Team run by LAP Motorsports to run a partial season in the SRO TC America Series, finishing 3rd in his first professional debut at Sonoma Raceway. After winning the Drivers Championship in 2023, Clayton has his goal on GT4.
In 2014-2015 Clayton partnered with Racing 2 Cure, a non-profit group that used racing to help grow awareness and donations for breast cancer. He became the 2nd highest fund raiser in California and 9th overall for the entire country.
In 2020, Clayton began as an official ambassador for Donate Life America. DLA is a non-profit organization helping grow awareness for donor registration to help shorten the wait list for life saving transplants. There are currently over 100,000 patients waiting for live saving transplants.
This hits home for Clayton, 31 years ago, his mother had a liver transplant and went on to get married and have 2 kids. Along with the transplant she has beaten breast cancer, skin cancer, and in 2020 she had a kidney transplant donated by his sister, Cierra.
